A Little Piece of History:
In 1974 the Soo Street Rod Association was formed. Over the years many members, past and present, can testify to the contribution made to the community of Sault Ste. Marie by our organization. Our car shows over the years have set a number of precedents : we were the first club to build a car (a 1932 Ford) and give it away as a prize. In subsequent shows we also decided to do something different by designing and making our own trophies to award as prizes. In 1999 we celebrated our 25th anniversary. An occasion marked by a major social event where members past and present came together to reminisce about the past and build for the future.

We are located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada on the border with our twin city, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, U.S.A. We are beautifully situated between the great Lakes Superior and Huron.
Events and Community Involvement
Over the years we have had the satisfaction of being able to donate car show proceeds to many different charities including Big Brothers, Sunshine Foundation Club, Canadian National Institute for the Blind and United Way. We have also helped our local Canadian Cancer Society branch by distributing daffodil boxes to business in town.
Cruise Nights
In 1987 our cruise nights started. Currently the cruise nights, which run from May 'til September, are at the Station Mall northeast parking lot on the corner of Bay and Elgin St. It's located across from Station Tower, 100 meters northeast of Sears. We meet there every Wednesday night from 7:30 pm till ??? Hope to see you there!

We have introduced this website to publicize our club and to inform you of our activities and achievements. We hope you enjoy your visit here. If you have any questions about becoming a member, comments or criticisms, please contact us.
If you would like to join our club you only have to be a car enthusiast....no hot rod necessary! Simply fill out an application form and send it to us. Dues are $30 per year. We meet the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 pm. (7:00 pm during the summer from June till September.)
